Tatum Valentine was mine. From that moment until the day we died. Whether she liked it or not. This felt a little like déjà vu at times, it was weird, almost like I knew exactly what was going to happen but I liked it. Again this was just as good as the first book, and now I’m dying and can’t wait till the next one is out. I feel bad for what Tatum had gone through with Declan. Their friendship was the sweetest and the best growing up, even with all the guys. Sometimes mistakes happen, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok or right. For the guys, Tatum means so much to them, she’s like family and no matter what they’ll always fight to the end and have her back. My favorite is in the very beginning, when you see how Tate and Decks friendship first starts out. It’s sweet, cute, and funny. It definitely had me cracking up a bit. Tate isn’t exactly a girly girl, and is more of a tomboy, but she is really very sweet. Deck is more like Mr. big shot tough boy with actually a really big heart. Growing up he’d do anything for Tatum, why, because she’s his girl. I think you mostly think of Declan, as a not so caring bad boy from the first book, but really I think he’s just hurting and more angry at himself for his one mistake in the past that lead to completely loosing Tate. Even the rest of the guys were quite mad at at deck for what he did, and ready to kick his butt themselves. When you see what actually pulled them apart as time goes on, you can’t believe Deck at all until later, when you start to understand why some things happened like they did and what pushed them to happen in the first place. I think the friendship they all have is really the best, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the rest of the guys. Definitely a number one must.

***5 ‘Crimson & Storm’ Stars***
So, I did the whole “I’ll just take a peak” thing this morning and...well...I kinda devoured the book.
Like the entire thing.
Done.
And it’s not a BAD thing per se, but you know...I had that workthing to do, so…*Shrug*
But once I start Defile, putting it down wasn’t an option. From start to finish Declan and Tatum’s story was addicting. I mean if you want the ALL the feels, this book has them all. You’ll sigh and swoon, you’re panties will melt, you’ll want to pull your hair out in frustration, but you won’t be able to stop reading and find out if they can find their HEA in the end.
Hands down, as much as I loved Declan and Tatum, they drove me craycray (which is what I said about Garrett & Gwen in my review for Corrupt, so I’m pretty sure I’ll say that about the couple in the next book...but for now back to Declan and Tatum). Declan is all kinds of alpha AF male who loves hard and deep, but also has blinders on and doesn’t always see past how he thinks things should be. Tatum is sassy and spunky and has been from a young age. She marches to the beat of her own drum and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, but when it comes to rocking the boat, one on which she is also riding on, things get a little muddled.
Their second chance journey was a rough and complicated one because of how long they’d been friends and then lovers before everything went to h%^l in a handbasket. There is a lot of angsty-ness that goes on, but what made it work was that they still loved each other, even when they didn’t want to. But in the end I really liked how they figured things out and I love where they were at in the end.
I have to give props to the author for how she planned Declan and Tatum’s story out because I think it was done perfectly, well...okay, that’s prettyobvious since I devoured it, but there were any number of ways it could have been started and I think the one she choose was the best. It gave a solid foundation for them and why they needed to be together. As for the rest of the CC crew. Ian, I adore, hands down. And I loved catching up with Gwen, Garrett and Liddy. Killian and Mason were definitely fun and interesting and I cannot wait to get my hands on their books!

Quick fun read
I am a devoted Jessica Prince fan. I admit that I did not love all her books, but I would never give up on her just because one book was not my thing. With that being said, I completely LOVED this book. Hand to god, at some point, while I was reading, even though I new exactly what was going to happen, my heart was beating out of my chest while breaking for Tatum. I didn’t think I would get to love Declan’s cheating a$s, however, I ended up rooting for him big time. Because, in the end, what do I know about the rockstar life? It was actually very eye opening, and it also spoke of the grittiness of this story, as well as Jessica Prince’s talent to write a good story.
We also got to revisit with Garrett, Gwen and little Liddy, and we got a cameo from the Girl Talk Show girls!!! With Fiona in tow!!!
As a final note, even if you didn’t read book one, which is Garrett and Gwen’s book, you’ll be able to read this one on its own. Although, I’d say you should start from the beginning, you won’t regret it )
First, we were introduced to Civil Corruption’s Drummer Garrett, now, we meet their lead singer, Bad Boy Declan in Defile, Jessica Prince’s Civil Corruption Series.
Declan has been “Best Friends” with flaming haired tomboy Tatum “Tate” since they were 7 years old. Together they shared their first kiss, were each other’s “first love” and lost their virginity to one another. But eventually Declan was the first person to break Tate’s heart... and end any relationship they had... Ten years later, they run into each other, not gangly teenagers anymore, but grown adults leading separate lives, Declan is the famous Rock Star and Tatum is a Waitress... What happens to a broken heart and does “First Love” last, read Defile..
Defile is a FABULOUS book, I loved the banter between Declan and Tate, laughed at the attitudes of the guys in the band, cried, pouring out mixed emotions to an OUTSTANDING story.. Jessica Prince’s Defile is one of the BEST Rock Star Book ‘s, be sure and get yours today..
